Why Every Nursery Needs a Humidifier (Not Just When They Are Sick)

Most parents only turn on the humidifier when the baby has a cold. However, if you live in a dry climate (or use a heater in the winter), you should run it every single night.

Why Dry Air is Bad

  1. Congestion: Babies have tiny nasal passages. Dry air dries out their mucus, making it sticky and hard to breathe. Moist air keeps it loose.

  2. Eczema: A baby's skin loses moisture quickly. Dry air leads to itchy, red patches. A humidifier acts like "lotion for the air."

  3. White Noise: The gentle hum of the machine helps them sleep.

Cool Mist vs. Warm Mist: Always buy a Cool Mist Humidifier. "Warm Mist" machines boil water to create steam. If a toddler knocks it over, it can cause severe burns. Cool mist uses vibration to create vapor, so it is 100% safe to touch.
